School Board Candidates Forum

The Pike Township Educational Foundation (PTEF) will hold a School Board Candidate Forum on October 25, 2012 at 6:00 pm. The Forum will take place at Central Elementary School, 7001 Zionsville Road.

The forum will give candidates a chance to share their views on key issues and opportunities that impact the quality of education for the students of Pike Township. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the candidates. The candidates for the Pike School Board are, David Copher, Michael Downs, Eric Huffine, Ricky Hence, Larry Metzler, Brownell Payne, Cherlisa Richardson and Nancy Poore. Hence, Metzler and Poore are currently members of the board who are seeking another term.

The Pike Township Educational Foundation provides grants for innovative educational projects, student scholarships and special recognition for teachers and students. Since it was founded in 1993, the foundation has provided over $400,000 for classroom grants and over $180,000 in scholarships for Pike High School seniors to assist in furthering their education.
