In 1993, a group of forward-thinking Pike Township community members formed a non-profit foundation with a mission “to enhance the educational experience of every Pike student by providing resources for innovative, high quality approaches to education.” In the 25 years since its inception, the Pike Township Educational Foundation (PTEF) has awarded more than $1,000,000 in scholarships to Pike High School seniors, K-12 classroom grants, as well as district-wide initiatives. PTEF depends on corporate sponsorships, individual donations, and support from community members to help support its mission to fund innovation in education in all Pike Township Schools.

The funds raised by PTEF are used to help bridge the gap between the basic curricular necessities provided by the state funds and the innovative ideas our educators develop to encourage our students to think out of the box and develop into life-long thinkers.

PTEF is a separate financial and legal entity from the MSD Pike Township and its Board of Education. It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who, through careful financial investments and meticulous stewardship of corporate and community donations, maintains the founding supporters’ original mission: to use the money raised and invested to fund classroom grants as well as scholarships for PHS seniors.

Since its inception, the PTEF Board has stringently maintained its focus on funding educational innovation at every level in every Pike School through grants. PTEF has proudly funded grants that have enriched the music, art, physical education, STEM, and literacy curriculum at every school level.

PTEF also provides matching grants for DonorsChoose.org projects. Through their “Double Your Impact” program, PTEF matches grants submitted by Pike teachers and staff valued up to $800. PTEF matches every private donor dollar until the project has been fully funded.

Support for our grant initiatives is provided by individual donors, corporate sponsorships, and fundraising events such as the annual Treasures for Education.
